Sativa’s journey with yoga began at birth, thanks to her mother's influence. For all 23 years of her life, yoga has been a constant companion, guiding her through the ebbs and flows of existence. Growing up as a dedicated competitive dancer, Sativa found that yoga provided the grounding and balance she needed to navigate both the physical and emotional demands of dance and everyday life. Sativa's deep-rooted connection to yoga has shaped her into a compassionate and insightful instructor. Her personal practice, enriched by years of experience, informs her teaching style, which emphasizes the holistic benefits of yoga. She believes in the delicate balance of yin and yang, incorporating this philosophy into her classes to create a harmonious blend of dynamic movement and restorative stillness. Her favourite style to teach is Yoga Nidra which exemplifies this balance, offering profound relaxation and mental clarity. Sativa's background in competitive dance has endowed her with a keen understanding of the body, alignment, and movement. Her classes are designed to be accessible yet challenging, with a focus on proper alignment and mindful transitions. She uses her extensive knowledge to guide students through sequences that build strength, flexibility, and awareness, all while ensuring that each pose is performed safely and effectively. A cornerstone of Sativa's teaching philosophy is her dedication to mental health. She passionately believes in the transformative power of yoga to support emotional resilience and mental well-being.
